Almost all of them are sharing rave experiences about Pakistani hospitality—in sharp contrast to popular perception of our neighbours. Equally important it has, in a very limited way albeit, formally resumed people-to-people contact between the two countries. This is incredible because both countries were till recently on the brink of a full-fledged war; tensions continue to be high. The obvious question then is whether the two countries have found a via media in Kartarpur to scale down hostilities and at the least consider resuming a dialogue. Exactly why people-to-people contact in such pressure cooker situations is a key to lower the tensions and the Kartarpur corridor may be offering such an opportunity.
